    PBSP is a powerful therapy for the reeducation and remolding of difficult mind /body patterns in the human psyche. Participants will develop and enhance their skill and knowledge as PBSP therapists. This hands-on, experiential program will consist of theory, exercises, demos and supervision.  Interested therapists will be assisted in developing a personal plan of training and development leading to certification as a PBSP therapist. All levels of PBSP practitioner’s beginners to advanced are welcome.

    The program will be offered over three weekends from October 2018 to March 2019.

    Each weekend will be three days beginning Friday 9:00 am and ending Sunday 4:00 pm

        March 29-31, 2019                  Identifying and treating Trauma patterns using PBSP principles

    FEE:   $450/weekend

               $400/weekend if attending all three weekends

    17Clock hours available:  Asheville Center for Group and Family Therapy is an approved continuing education provider (ACEPtm) and may offer NBCC clock hours for events that meet NBCC requirements.  The ACEP is responsible for all aspects of this program.

    The 3rd annual USPBSPA conference will be held in Asheville, NC.   

    "Endlessly becoming:  An experiential workshop for psychotherapists"

    Once again, USPBPA Trainers and Supervisors will put on a conference event in conjunction with their annual retreat and USPBSPA Board meeting.  Come and join them in beautiful Asheville, NC for a day of learning, meeting with old friends and making new ones.  Psychotherapists, and interested lay people, of all levels of knowledge of PBSP, from new to advanced practitioners are welcome.

    PBSP Supervisor and Trainer, Jim Amundsen, PhD will be offering 3 days of training in San Diego, CA.  Psychotherapists, social workers, and mental health practioners of all levels of experience with PBSP, from beginner to advanced, are welcome to attend.

    Training dates:

    • Friday, May 31, 2019 (9am - 5pm)
    • Saturday, June 1 (9am - 5pm)
    • Sunday, June 2, 2019 (9am - 4pm)

    Cost $450 | Student Cost $375

    Participants will be able to:

    • Identify manifestations of unmet basic developmental needs as they arise in the therapy session.
    • Review PBSP principle of Ideal Parenting as a healing response to unmet needs and how to teach it to the client.
    • Utilize the techniques of witnessing and “voices” when working with clients in the early stages of a PBSP session or in relational therapy.
    • Practice helping their clients use symbolic action and satisfying interactions with ideal parent figures to create new and more positive, experientially anchored internal maps.
    • Utilize PBSP tools focused on developing and maintaining safety, respect and careful limits when working with abused and traumatized clients.

    PBSP Trainer, Jim Amundsen, PhD, LP, will once again offer a 5 day PBSP training retreat on the shores of Lake Superior in northern MN.  Last year's attendees were unanimous in their praise for both the training and the location for this training retreat.  All therapist of all disciplines are welcomed, from expert PBSP practitioners to those brand new and perhaps curious of PBSP psychotherapy.  Continuing education credits will be available from the Minnesota Boards of Psychology and Social Work (25 hours).  Cost is $550.
